Delay in Reconnection of Electricity Service

In case of failure by the Saudi Electricity Company to restore electricity to a customer, electricity service should be reconnected within twenty four (24) hours, calculated from the time service disconnection has been known (or it is reasonably known) to have occurred by the service provider.

Conditions for Entitlement to Compensation:

1. If electricity service is reconnected after the twenty-four (24) hours' period calculated from the time service disconnection has been known (or reasonably known) to have occurred as established by the Saudi Electricity Company.​

2. The claim for compensation shall be submitted within thirty (30) days after the lapse of the agreed time period within which to deliver the service.


If the customer from residential category is entitled to compensation, the Saudi Electricity Company shall pay compensation equivalent to SAR 75, and the customer shall also be entitled to additional SAR 75 for every additional (12) hours' period in case electricity disconnection continued.

If the customer from non-residential category is entitled to compensation, the Saudi Electricity Company will pay compensation equivalent to SAR 150, and the customer shall also be entitled to additional SAR 75 for every additional (12) hours period in case electricity disconnection continued.​
