The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), in collaboration with Alfanar, proudly announces the successful installation and operation of the first locally-manufactured, eco-friendly Smart Ring Main Unit (RMU) in the Middle East. This innovative unit has passed all quality and safety tests conducted by a leading global laboratory specializing in electrical equipment testing.
With this achievement, SEC becomes the first utility company in the Middle East to integrate and operate this advanced RMU within its distribution network. This milestone follows several agreements recently signed by SEC with various local and international manufacturers during the COP 28 summit held in Dubai. These agreements align with SEC's strategic objectives to enhance the operational efficiency of the Kingdom's electrical grid and to adopt global best practices in network automation. Additionally, this initiative underscores SEC's commitment to supporting innovation and promoting national industries.
